The most important hardware essentially needed by all budding iPhone developers is the Mac Book or an intel – based Mac machine. This is because iPhone programming can only be done by using “Apple X OS”. But that doesn’t mean that you cannot use non intel Mac machines. Non intel Mac machines are equally good for iPhone programming.  Power PC Mac can work for the purpose but it will have a sluggish pace, which will result in lower outputs. I book is not a good choice as well. The intel based Mac PC suits the best for this purpose. If you don’t have any other options apart from Power PC, then ensure that it’s running Leopard 10.4 or more.

Both old and New Mac is ideal for iPhone programming. The dual core Mac machine is the best choice for the purpose. The old machine will trot while the new Mac machine will work at a lightning speed. One can choose from a Mac PC and a Mac book as both creates a stolid foundation for iPhone programming. Interface builder and X code runs effortlessly on both these machines. No matter whichever Mac machine is used but it should have at least 2 GB RAM.
