Annual Picnic Chronicles 2025: A Fun Getaway Trip to Abasar

If you know Karmick Solutions, you know no stone is left unturned when it comes to creating memorable company events. You can guarantee you will leave with a full belly and a story to tell. We eagerly awaited the day of our annual office picnic.

Finally, the day came. On January 18th, at around 9.00, we all geared up to board the bus from the office premises. Our excitement was palpable on the way as the cool morning breeze, rustic landscapes, and scenic green views refreshed us. Listening to fun road-trip songs, laughing, and chatting, we soon arrived at our destination.

This year, our picnic spot was Abasar, a tranquil getaway, a short drive from Kolkata. Crisp air and lush green fields greeted us. Within a few minutes, we were heading straight to the breakfast area. A delightful breakfast awaited us – stuffed kochuri, spicy aloo dom, and the seasonal Bengali sweetmeat delicacy, nolen gurer moa. Steaming cups of coffee topped it off. We felt energized for the eventful day.

The fun kicked off with the first contest, Hit the Wicket. In this game, players had to hit the stumps within three attempts. Next up was Handi Bhanga – players took turns, blindfolded, to hit a handi with a stick until it broke open. It had us all cheering loudly.

A large group of Karmickites displayed some innovative cricket shots – we had never seen something like that before! In a while, crispy hot chicken and paneer pakora were served. We immediately took a snack break. Soon we rejoined in a new game – the all-time-favorite musical chair! Each time a co-worker stepped out of the game, we shouted their names embarrassingly loud and proud! The children had their own little adventures. They dashed around, played, and formed instant friendships.

At any Karmick Solutions event, food seems to be the talking point. As the clock struck 2, it was time for lunch. The menu had steaming hot rice, lentils, and fried potatoes. For non-vegetarians, there was mutton, chicken, butterfish, and shrimp curry. For vegetarians, rich paneer curry was the sole delicacy. Chutney and papad were the perfect finishing touch. For dessert, we relished soft, syrupy rosogolla to our heart’s content!

After the hearty meal, we played Antakshari. At the end of the contests, the winners received well-earned prizes from our directors. A special gift distribution for the children brought an extra sparkle of joy to their bright, cheerful faces.

As the sun began to set, the picnic came to an end. We packed our bags. As we neared home, one thing was certain – the day at Abasar had gifted us not just a treasure trove of happy memories but also recharged spirits and renewed bonds to carry forward into the year ahead.
